Advice on Vocational Education from Our Founder Erdoğan Aslan to Youth and Families
Our company's founder, Mr. Erdoğan Aslan, shared advice with young people and their families on the importance of vocational education, on the occasion of his own graduation from a vocational-technical high school. Noting that the theoretical and hands-on training given in vocational high schools prepares young people both for a profession and for life, Aslan drew on his own experience to advise young people to set goals, believe in themselves and choose a profession that matches their interests. He stressed to families the importance of discovering their children's talents and supporting them. We are pleased to share this meaningful talk by Erdoğan Aslan, who founded and grew KAR-AS Textile as a vocational high school graduate.
Transcript
I am Erdoğan Aslan, founder of KAR-AS Textile Mattress Spring Industry Ltd. I graduated from the Metalworking Department of a vocational-technical high school. If I have had the chance to build a factory today, it is thanks to the teachers who trained us in the workshops. Whichever workshop I enter, there is surely the influence of one of my teachers. So I feel the awareness of being a vocational high school graduate; I believe we received a good education. I know technical drawing, and we know by heart how to build a three-dimensional machine. I say, “How good that you enrolled, how good that you studied there.” Mothers and fathers, please, if you want to see aptitude and talent in your child, be sure to enroll them in a vocational-technical high school and let them graduate from there. We need the skilled workers sought here. And I would like to give this advice to the young generation: We never go hungry. A vocational high school graduate never goes hungry; we will surely find work somewhere.
